Tateyama Bay with its beautiful sandy beach is also called Kagamigaura, or Mirror Bay, as it is often calm like the flat surface of a mirror. As the bay faces the west, the sun sets over the horizon leaving a bright orange color. When the air is clear enough, Mt. Fuji can be seen. Twice a year, people come to see the unique phenomena called \u201cDiamond Fuji\u201d, when the sun sets behind the top of Mt. Fuji.<br>Free parking space is provided, and on the street lined with palm trees, one can find hotels, cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores.
