Awa Shrine was built to enshrine the god, and has been the area\u2019s most important Shrine since then. As you pass the massive white Torii gate and proceed along the approach into the precinct, the quiet, holy air welcomes you. Walk among big, aged trees, and pay a visit to the main shrine building. This is the shrine where locals visit on New Year\u2019s Day, for special occasions such as to celebrate children\u2019s healthy growth, or to have weddings. If you have a chance, come visit in early April, when cherry tress along the approach are in full bloom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery alignwide has-nested-images
